VFI MEN’S BREAKFAST AT KATI KATI ON THE 4TH APRIL, 2009

On Saturday 4th of April, 2009 a number of brothers from VFI meet for breakfast at Kati Kati restaurant. The breakfast which was slated for 8:00am did not kick off until a few minutes to 9:00am with a prayer from Wycliffe Nkamushaba.

Brother Timothy one of the organizers of the breakfast took a few minutes to explain to the gentlemen, who turned out in large numbers, the reason for the breakfast. He cited a need for peer influence and accountability among the brothers in the fellowship. He later introduced the main speaker Mr. William Ndawula of Christian Men’s Network, whose role as a discipled man was to highlight the very need earlier cited by Timothy.

William quickly shared three aspects of a TRUE MAN:

1.      A true man is a Steward.

2.      He is Relational.

3.      He is a leader.

To elaborate his points, he cited a number of scriptures and characters from the Bible like in 2 King 12:2 King Jehoash who was an excellent steward in building the Temple and King David an excellent leader. He also interjected his presentation with profound statements which stirred up and challenged brethren for example.

  • Men do not pray for miracles instead they ask for wisdom. With wisdom comes strategy, plan, and then victory.
  • Men Speak to be Heard
  • Men Stand to be Seen
  • Men Sit to be Appreciated.
  • Real men tithe
  • Men make things happen but do not wait for things to happen.

After the presentation, brethren were free to interact, ask questions over a cup of tea

Some of the key questions asked were:

  • How can we be the men God wants us to be in VFI?
  • How can we lead each other when some of us have no mission and vision in life?
  • How can we impact and influence each other in VFI?

With the leading of Brother Timothy, we agreed to get into groups of 3-5 men and begin to study some of the CMN books in with purpose of answering the above questions and being true men. (Peer influence and accountability)

Brother Jonathan Bushora gave a vote of thanks to Mr. Ndawula on behalf of the brothers and Brother Julius Kakuyo closed the breakfast with a word of prayer.

Thank you, gentlemen for turning up in such great numbers for the breakfast at Kati Kati last Saturday. Your contribution and participation was very profound and greatly underscored God’s movement among men in this nation which seems to be catching like wild fire in all churches. As we agreed with meeting regularly once we roll out with our study groups.
